I remember the lilacs.

Growing up in St. Louis Park, I loved the rows and rows of lilacs along Highway 100. My 88-year old dad was lucky enough to drive along that early Lilac Way and see the roadside parks in the 1940s.

I was inspired by the Mn/DOT and TPT documentary film, Highway 100: Lilac Way to develop the concept, design the materials and direct the Campaign to Restore Lilac Way. Watch the video here.

The project has become a labor of love—Laukkonen Design is donating all creative work for the project, and the seed money to get it up and running until Partners are determined and corporate sponsorship is finalized.

For almost 20 years, Laukkonen Design has created logos, brochures and web sites that take clients to the next level. Our thoughtful creative solutions help businesses find their voice—and be heard above the roar.

We partner with our clients to develop marketing communications that speak to customers. Solid strategy and strong concepts are the foundation of every project.

Since starting this Campaign, many people have spoke to me of their fondness for the lilacs.

At a road construction meeting for a proposed project at Highway 7 and Wooddale near Highway 100, one of the first questions to the City of St. Louis Park was: “Can you save the lilacs?”
